Michael Kirk is an internationally renowned jewelry artist of Isleta Pueblo and Navajo descent. He is known for his high end and one-of-a-kind gold and silver jewelry pieces that use precious and semi-precious gemstones of the highest quality. Kirk has been creating pieces since 1971. He is seen as a pioneer in the Native American jewelry world for his use of gold.
Kirk creates pieces using a variety of traditional techniques, including mosaic inlay, sand-casting and the nearly lost art of hand-rolled bead making. One of his signature designs is delicately engraved feather pieces, though he is also known for his cutting-edge and contemporary work that challenges common beliefs about what Native American jewelry is.
